This session will cover how a holistic approach to the challenges faced by the new style GCSEs and specs can improve your results. The session will explore how the curriculum design choices you make can affect your results, the importance of monitoring and tracking, the smart use of data to inform interventions and drive improvements and the need for firm accountability.
- The sessions will be interactive, with a guided exhibition from Key Stage Coordinators from English and Maths giving you a view from the coal face in the first session. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask difficult questions and focus on the areas of most interest to your situation.
- The Heads of English and Maths will expand on two key areas of our success, accountability and data management and tracking, with practical tips, pitfalls and how to overcome them.
- Our external examiners will share their learning from this summer’s exams and how you can use it to improve your practice.
- The final session will focus on Teaching and Learning, and how a dedicated team has helped to raise the performance of our staff. In addition to this overview, we will present three case mini studies on the value of DIRT, Oracy and Technology in classrooms
Finally, you will be invited to write your own Action Plan for success, based on the learning from the day and great ideas shared by all your colleagues in the sessions.
