I have been a Head Teacher for 4 years at Pickhurst Infant Academy, which is a four form Infant school in West Wickham. During my career I have worked in East Ham and Bromley across KS1 and 2 but predominately in the Early Years, which is my passion. I believe that access to high quality early years education positively impacts on children's later school outcomes and life chances. I was fortunate to spend 5 years as an Early Years Education Adviser, working with colleagues in Bromley across the sector, to improve outcomes for our youngest children.
In 2013 Pickhurst Infant Academy was designated as a National Teaching School. Our Teaching School, EYELA (Early Years Excellence Learning Alliance) is a centre of excellence in Early Years Education. We engage in the latest research and work with schools within Bromley and beyond, and across many partnerships, to ensure that all young children receive the best early years education possible.
I believe that as systems leaders we should be outward facing and work together to reflect and challenge in a supportive way. I am proud that our school is part of the Challenge Partner network of schools and I am excited to be part of the Education Advisory Group developing the educational landscape, on a national scale.
