Quality Assurance Review: FAQ's
All of the QAR resources are available here on our website. If you log in and go to the tab called "Resources" and "Key documents for schools" you'll see a link to "Quality Assurance Review (QAR) Key Documents" that will have all of the key documents for the QAR.
If you are scheduled to host or attend a QA Review, you will receive all the necessary details three weeks prior to your pre-review analysis date.
The Lead Reviewer will be in touch 2-3 weeks before your scheduled review.

If you can no longer attend, due to extenuating circumstances that are completely unavoidable and beyond your control, please follow the following steps:
1. Speak to trained colleagues in your school/trust to see if they can replace you
2. Speak to your Hub Manager and/or Senior Partner to see if any other school in your hub/network can replace you.
3. Keep the central team fully informed of your replacement –

Partnership/Hub
Yes, these are open to whoever you feel would benefit within your school, at no extra cost.
You can search for your school on our School Support Directory which will provide you with this information, or if you email partnershipsteam@challengepartners.org, a member of the team will be able to confirm this for you.
If you email partnershipsteam@challengepartners.org, a member of the team will be able to link you up with your hub and ensure you are part of the different meetings and activities.
It's entirely up to you, but we would recommend sharing your QAR report during a hub meeting. Others in your hub may be able to provide support following your QA Review, and/or benefit from hearing about your areas of strength.
Growing the Top & SEND Developmental Peer Review
In the first instance please contact your Facilitator, however, the central team (programmes@challengepartners.org) is always happy to assist with any queries.
The central team will be sending an email approximately 6 weeks before your scheduled visit day to you and your Facilitator. They should be in touch shortly after to organise a planning call for the agenda.
The central team will share the agenda template and a guidance document attached to the 6 week email. There is also guidance in the handbook (also attached to this email and shared with you after in the email post-launch event).
You can also find all programme resources on the website HERE. You will need to log in or create an account to access this area.
Once you are ready to start preparing for your day and you receive the 6 week email, please get in touch with your Facilitator to organise a planning call to discuss the agenda.
We would recommend ensuring your agenda is finalised and sent to your Facilitator 2-3 weeks before the visit day. Your Facilitator will then send it to the rest of the group. If the agenda is not ready by this time, you should still email your group to inform them of the timings, address, parking information and request their dietary requirements.
Contact the central team at programmes@challengepartners.org and copy in your Facilitator to let them know as soon as possible. Consider one of the back up dates you agreed with your group previously. If the back up dates are no longer available or suitable, your Facilitator and the central team will support you to find a new date.
Contact the central team at programmes@challengepartners.org as well as your Facilitator to let them know and organise to send a replacement from your senior leadership to ensure that you fulfill your commitment to your peers and the programme.
If your group and Facilitator agree to host additional attendees from your school, then you are welcome to bring them along to the visit days. Please ensure you contact the group and Facilitator beforehand to check if this can be accommodated.
When it comes to whole cohort events (launch and wrap up events), these are limited to two attendees per school.
However, as per your programme commitment, at least 2 of the same participants from your school must attend all programme events. If due to extenuating circumstances, the same 2 participants are unable to attend an event at any point in the year, please inform the central team (programmes@challengepartners.org) as soon as
The EvaluateMySchool platform is a unique aspect of the SEND Developmental Peer Review. It will be used as a tool by yourselves and your Lead Facilitator to identify the Areas of Strength and Development that you would like to present on your visit day, as well as to measure your development over the course of the programme.
You will be expected to complete your initial self-evaluation in the Autumn Term (by Nov 7th 2025) and then again at the end of academic year (before the wrap up event). To gain the most value and sustainable impact from the programme, it is expected that schools will carve out time for the full leadership team to complete and review the self-evaluation, and utilise it as a valuable school improvement and tracking tool throughout the academic year.
The two participants from your school will have received a sign up link following the launch event to create your account. Future log-ins should be made via the link HERE.
A Theory of Change is a description of how an intervention or strategy will be effective, setting out the logical steps by which outcomes are achieved, and is
typically represented in a visual diagram. The idea was developed to help organisations define and measure success in the absence of a 'profit motive'.
On the Growing the Top programme, the Theory of Change is a tool that can help you to clarify what you are evaluating when looking at your 'Area of Systemic Challenge'.
Prior to the visit day, you can use it to design your agenda with your Facilitator and share it with your group to set the context. During and after the visit, you can use it to focus the discussions on your 'Area of Systemic Challenge, create a plan of action and consolidate next steps.
You can find a template of this tool on the website HERE (you will need to log in or create an account to access this area) or in the Shared Resources folder sent to you via email, along with a recording of the session led by ImpactEd on how to use it.
