Our partner schools, Swiss Cottage School, Development and Research Centre, as well as The Charter School East Dulwich and Alperton Community School are to be part of a global showcase of 100 schools which will gather online to share best practice for the inaugural World Education Week.
The 5-9 October event is being launched in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal on Quality Education (SDG 4).
One hundred schools have been hand-picked for their work across a range of educational themes, such as:
- enhancing employability and life-skills
- deepening family and community engagement
- the use of technology
- a focus on wellbeing
- and promoting the science of learning and teaching
Each school will share their wisdom to an online audience expected to reach 100,000 worldwide. The ambition driving World Education Week is to accelerate progress to achieve UN SDG 4, a commitment designed to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning for all.
Swiss Cottage School are one of seven UK schools to play a key part in the world’s biggest grassroots online education conference, chosen for their commitment to key areas of education. They have been selected for use of technology, and their online showcase is on: Supporting and empowering teachers to lead on the design of learning and inclusive pedagogy, will be live on Thursday 8 October, 4-5pm. Alperton Community School will showcase their work on Embracing multiculturalism to strengthen learning; and The Charter School East Dulwich will showcase their work on Supporting children with autism.
